Funeral services for Jerry Buchanan, age 73, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Medford with Rev. Bobby J. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemound Cemetery in Medford with arrangements being made by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Medford.

Jerry was born January 9, 1940 east of Nash, Oklahoma to Ralph and Lena (Weichold) Buchanan. Jerry was the fourth of seven children and attended the Nash schools. Jerry married Joleen Fisher on September 13, 1959 in Medford, Oklahoma and after a brief time in Missouri, moved to Medford to start their life together. Jerry and Joleen were blessed with three sons, Roger, Calvin and Danny. Jerry and Joleen celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in September 1984. Joleen preceded him in death on January 1, 1985. Jerry married Carolyn Robinette on November 6, 1987 in Medford, Oklahoma. Jerry and Carolyn celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in November 2012. Jerry worked for Clyde Coop in Medford and their other locations for over 36 ½ years before retiring in January 2002.

Jerry enjoyed spending his retirement crafting handmade items for family and friends. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Joleen; son, Calvin Buchanan; son-in-law, Billy Whitt; and great-grandson, Landyn Wade Graham.

Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; son, Roger and his wife, Cindy of Houston, TX; son, Danny of the home; step-daughter, Geraldine Rose Whitt of West Liberty, KY; stepdaughter, Mary Jane and Alvin Ashcraft of Chandler, OK; stepson, Dan and Regina Robinette of Tryon, OK; stepdaughter, Shirley and Jerry Bibby of Wakita, OK and step-daughter, Ruth Graham and Kevin Guinn of Colgate, OK; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Billy of Arkansas.

Visitation for Jerry will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2 – 6pm. Remembrances can be made in care of Wheatheart Nutrition in Medford with the funeral home serving as custodian.
