Kiowa-Boyd Beaumont Forester was born January 23, 1932 in Alva, Oklahoma to B.C. "Bo" and Mary Forester. He died February 6, 2016 in Kiowa, Kansas.

Boyd attended school in Kiowa, graduating with the class of 1950. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Animal Husbandry. Boyd was on the tennis team at KSU, was a member of the Army ROTC and the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. White at K-State, he met Sally Hoatson. They were married September 23, 1955.

Boyd loved to teach tennis to anyone who would pick up a racket. He provided many books to beginners on how to play the game. He and Sally loved their dogs and treated them as their family. Reading was a means to learn more about his other interests, politics and economics.
