Billy Boyd Hale, age 88, passed from this life at his home in Cleo Springs surrounded by his family, after a hard fought battle with CHF. His Oklahoma celebration of life service will be at Cleo Springs Baptist Church on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. and then he will be taken home to Gordon, Texas for his final resting place in the New Gordon Cemetery. Bill was born on November 3, 1932 at Harvey B and Lucille Dewitt Hale in Thurber, Texas. After school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served one term, after which he received an honorable discharge. He returned to McCamey, Texas to work in the oilfield where he met the love of his life, Anita Tinney. They were married November 1, 1957.
As a product of that marriage, they had two girls, Linda Joyce, born March 30, 1963 and Donna Lynn, born November 13, 1964. Both girls died shortly after their births. In 1965 Bill and Anita moved from Texas to Oklahoma to work in the oilfield. In 1967 they adopted a little boy which they named Billy Joe. They made their home in Cleo Springs where they live today. In 2001 they adopted BJ’s two daughters, Krysta Beth and Brande Jo. Bill spent a lot of his spare time with his coffee buddies at the Orienta Coffee Shop.
Bill is preceded in death by his two daughters, his parents, three brothers and many of his friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Anita of Cleo Springs; daughters, Krysta Creed and husband, Michael of Lubbock Texas, Brande Naugle and husband, Kyle of Cleo Springs; one sister, Joann Bearden of Mingus, Texas; very special friends, Jerry and Teressa Driskill of Oklahoma City, Jim and Barbara Hamen of Cleo Springs, Trey Gould of Cleo Springs and Justin and Krystal Boyce of Chester; seven grandchildren, Amanda Hale and partner, Dakota Newman, Michael Hale and wife, Jennifer, Alexus Naugle, Kaeleigh Creed, Bentlee Naugle, Garytt Creed, Madoux Naugle; two great grandchildren, Jamie Hale and Maiwen Hale and special friends, the Orienta coffee buddies.
Memorials may be made to Cleo Springs First Responders or Cleo Springs Baptist Church through the funeral home.
