Funeral services for William G. Schrock, 85, will be Monday, September 28, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Fellowship in Kiowa, Kansas with Rev. Gene Getz officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Bill passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. He was born September 30, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas, to Sam and Minnie Schrock. They moved to Kiowa when Bill was two years old. He attended a one-room country school in his early years and graduated from Kiowa High School. He was a member of the class of 1947. He was honored to receive both the State Farmer and the American Farmer awards.

Bill was inducted into the Army and served his country in the Korean War. After returning from Korea, Bill visited his war buddies in Francesville, Indiana, where he met Kathleen E. Gudeman. Bill and Kathleen fell in love and married in December of 1953. They made their home together in Kiowa. Bill was a farmer and cattleman. He valued God's creation and was glad for the opportunity to work the land. They continued to reside on the farm until retiring in 2013 to Tyler, Texas.

Bill was active in the Navigators, Gideons, and Promise Keepers. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship.

Survivors include his wife, of 61 years, Kathleen Schrock, Tyler, Texas; daughter, Jo Ann and her husband, Mike Pile of Tyler, Texas; son, Bob Schrock and his wife, Lori of Vero Beach, Florida and Kiowa, Kansas; grandchildren, Austin William Pile of San Luis Obispo, California; Quintin Pile of Tyler, Texas, and Ellie Marie Schrock also of Vero Beach. Florida and Kiowa, Kansas.

Visitation will be held at Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa on Saturday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 to 6:00.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Kiowa District Hospital and Manor and to the South Barber FFA through the funeral home.
