Bill Potter

June 21, 1920 — November 19, 2016

William Eugene Potter, 96, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his residence. He was a craftsman and of the Baptist faith. Bill was a Mason his entire life. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Bill served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant Combat Engineer during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.

He was the son of the late Willard and Leona Potter. Bill was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Rose Potter; his brother Bob Potter and his sister, Helen Steele.

Survivors include his daughters, Billie Redmon, Wright City, Missouri and Georgie Redmon, Paragould, Arkansas; brother, Charles (Jinny) Potter, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Cherokee. A graveside funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Pleasant View Cemetery north of Jet. Memorials may be given to the World War II Museum in New Orleans through the funeral home.
