Beverly Lacy

Beverly Lacy, 90, lifetime resident of Wakita, went home to her Heavenly Father on August 26, 2024, at Wakita Community Health Center, her home for several years. Beverly June Ayers was born June 2, 1934, to Edward and Ruth (Walker) Ayers of Wakita, the first of four daughters. She graduated from Wakita High School in 1952. 

On August 27, 1953, she married Gene Fisher Lacy. To this union were born Patrica Gail, Gina Marie, and Mark Allen. Beverly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. 

Beverly worked at the Citizens Bank of Wakita for many years serving as Cashier. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, VFW Auxiliary, Wakita Alumni Association, CFW and active in her church. She also served on the Wakita Schools Board of Education. Beverly loved to cook and was famous for her hot rolls, popcorn cake, and vast varieties of cookies and legendary for her lasagna. 

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers-in-law, Billy Jones and Paul Schuelke and nephew, Eric Green. 

Beverly is survived by her children, Pat (Garry) Curry of Edmond, Gina (Ron) Kendrick of Alva and Mark Lacy of Bryan, Texas; sisters, Mary Green, Sue Jones, and Eda Schuelke all of Wakita; three grandchildren, Sheila (Richard) Even of Norman, Chris (Summer) Martin of Edmond, and Joe (Kelsey) Martin of Alva; four great grandchildren, Jamison (Ashly) Even of Norman, and Jourdan Even of Norman, Ella and Luke Martin of Alva; great–great grandchildren, Daniel and Sawyer Even of Norman; family friend Gary Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wakita Christian Church with burial to follow at Wakita Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Medford. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home, Inc.
