Betty Jean Huebert Geis, 81, was born August 8, 1939 to Ned and Margeret Dyck Huebert in Corn, Oklahoma. Betty attended and graduated from Corn High School. She passed from this life on November 26, 2020 in Fairview. She attended SWOSU and graduated with a degree in teaching. Betty spent forty-five years in education teaching in Enid, Lacey and Okeene Public Schools. Then she spent four years teaching at SWOSU and ten years in Cedar Vale, Kansas. She also served many years on the Okeene School Board.
Betty and Willis Geis were married December 28, 1962. They had two children: Lynn and Lori. Betty was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and was the choir director.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Margeret Huebert; her husband, Willis Geis and daughter, Lori.
Betty is survived by her son, Lynn; sister, Shirley Jones and husband, Gary; brother-in-law, Weldon Geis; two nephews, Kennan Geis and Joseph Hunter and many other relatives.
Service for Betty will be Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church in Okeene with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene.
