Ringwood-Funeral service for Barbara Percy will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ringwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Sherry Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. Barbara was born on August 16, 1931 to Chelsea Patton and Luella Way Patton in Ames and passed from this life on December 22, 2014 in Enid. She attended Ames Public School, graduating in 1949. She met James A. Percy and they married on October 2, 1949. They eventually settled on the family farm south of Ringwood, where they raised their four children: Beverly Hoffman of Enid, Gary Percy and wife, Charlotte of Houma, Louisiana, Patty Howe and husband, Ron of Winfield, Kansas and Brian Percy of Enid. Barbara and Jim were on the ground floor of organizing the Major County Historical Society. They were both members of the 200 Club for years. Barbara kept books and was secretary. Jim ground grain and set the buildings. He also built the cinder block bathroom facility. Barbara was secretary for Hamm and Phillips when their business came to Ringwood. Barbara and Jim were members of the Ringwood Presbyterian Church both serving as deacons and elders. Barbara also cooked at Ringwood Public School. She and her sisters loved traveling together on a regular basis. Barbara loved quilting and especially her grandkids and family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Chelsea and Luella; an infant sister, Phyllis and a brother, Danny.
She is survived by her four children; five grandchildren, Chris Hoffman and wife, Shauna, Nicole Andersen and husband, Shane, Tracy Howe and Justin Crandall, Rebecca Howe and Timothy Meek and Desiree Meadows and husband, Wade; five great grandchildren, Lane Hoffman, Madilyn Andersen, Octavia Mills, Asher Long and Tyler Meadows and other grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jana and her three children, Brandi and her two children and Dina and her four children; sisters, Anita Smith and husband, Roger, Mary Goss and husband, Frank, Karen Leierer and husband, Jay; two brothers, Richard Patton and wife, Jalene and David Patton and wife, Trilla; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
