Arthur Bois Farrington was born on April 4, 1932, to Ashley and Mabel Farrington, the oldest of 6 children. He passed into the arms of Jesus on May 27, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. He was raised in Ringwood and the surrounding area. He joined the Air Force in 1949 and began his travels that would take him to 13 different bases in 8 different states and 3 different continents. After 26 years of serving his country, he retired from the Air Force in 1975 and began phase 2 of his life. His next stop was Wake Island in the Pacific where he worked as the communications supervisor. After 4 years he returned to the states and lived in Goldsboro, North Carolina where he finished his college education and received a Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Wesleyan University.
You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy so, in 1985, he returned to his roots in Ringwood. He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 10 years and fully retired in 1995.
He loved the pinochle games with his three sons. He loved to travel and enjoyed going on trips with other family members. But most of all he loved to make people happy. He connected with all age groups, enjoyed their camaraderie, and made people feel special. People would describe him as loving, kind, and compassionate and most of all God fearing.
He is survived by his sons, Joe Farrington, Dewey Farrington, and Rob Farrington; brother, Dewey Farrington; sisters, Leatha Summers and Gayle Moor; stepsons, Steve Meister, Scott Conaway and Kelly Conaway; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Farrington and his second wife, Clara Farrington; daughter, Iris Moore; brother, Kirk Farrington; sister, Naomi Polk; stepsons, Eldon Meister and Doug Meister; stepdaughter, Sheryl Gard.
