Borger, Texas-Graveside service for Anna Bea DeVore will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery near Jet. Viewing will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Cherokee. Rev. A. D. DeVore will be officiating.
Bea was born in Tebbetts, Missouri on June 19, 1924, the daughter of Howard H. Stafford and Ellen Haynes Stafford and passed from this life on April 2, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She and Harlan Austin DeVore were married in Borger, Texas in 1974. Bea was a wonderful mother and homemaker who loved to cook and to be outdoors. She fished, camped, hunted deer and worked in her garden. She was part of Rockport and Aransas Pass Sheriff’s Possee for several years. Her home was in Borger, Texas, but her winter home was in Houston, Texas.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan A. DeVore; two brothers, Pat Stafford and Len Stafford and a step-grandson, Jason DeVore.
Those who survive are her children, Tony Vaught of Borger, Texas and Carol Platt and husband, Paul of Amarillo, Texas; step children, W. A. DeVore and wife, Arlynna of Tulsa, H. A. DeVore and wife, Tammy of Bartlesville and Connie Park and husband, Charles of Kingsland, Texas; grandchildren, Allen Platt and wife, Paula of Avondale, Arizona, Kelly Platt of Canyon, Texas, Kathy Platt of Plano, Texas; step grandchildren, Janessa Miller and husband, Brian of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kim DeVore of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael DeVore of Bartlesville, Oklahoma,Tabitha Toon and husband, Dale of Smithdale, Oklahoma, Brandy Taylor of Austin, Texas, Jamie Taylor of Smithville, Texas, Jimmy John Taylor and wife, Katy of Bellevue, Washington; fourteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and one great great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends.
