"Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." Isaiah 40:31
Alvin F. Fortune was born on February 4, 1934 at Dane Township in Major County, Oklahoma, the son of Harry and Mable Warner Fortune, and he breathed his last breath on the sunny bright Saturday of July 26, 2014 in Cherokee. Alvin and Janet Fortune were married and three children were born: Danny, Timmy and Clayton. Alvin married Faith Lovely on December 30, 1978, and this union gave him four more sons: Randy, Ryan, Rory and Cory Lovely. Alvin and Faith owned and operated a grocery store and meat processing plant in Jet for twenty-four years. They still had time for fun things, such as boating, fishing, bike riding and playing card games.
He lay peaceful and quiet. This is a man and a life that is cherished. Alvin was loved as a husband, father, son, grandpa and friend for 80 years. He lived his life building a family that will carry his memory for generations to come. Faithful and dedicated, he loved the Lord with all his heart. Strong and proud, Alvin worked throughout his life providing for those he loved the most. Gentle and tender, this man adored his children and grandchildren blessing his home. Fun and excited, he challenged the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his boys by his side (and a granddaughter or two.) Caring and devoted, Alvin affectionately loved his wife, Faith.
