Alton M.K. Burk III
October 2, 1961 to October 17, 2020
Alton M.K. Burk III, age 59, was born in Elkton, Kentucky on October 2, 1961 and died at his home on October 17, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Alton, better known as “Big Al,” was born to Alton M.K. Burk Jr. and Judy Neathery. He joined the United States Air Force in 1980 and proudly served his country for twenty-three years. He was a patriot through and through and could always be found listening to NPR and watching Fox News. In 1984 he married Cliffa Burk Gaddis and not only gained a wife, but a daughter, Carrie Burk Vanover. During his marriage to Cliffa, they were blessed with another daughter, Shannon Burk Masquelier. Al enjoyed all genres of music and loved playing his guitar. He was a talented artist and writer and an even better aircraft mechanic. He loved making people laugh and was quite good at it.
His surviving family include daughter, Carrie Vanover and husband, Taylor of Enid, daughter, Shannon Masquelier and husband, John of Helena; grandchildren, Elise and Eli Vanover and Owen and Collin Masquelier; former wife and great friend, Cliffa Gaddis and husband, Daryl, and many, many friends.
