Wayne Roy

Wayne Leon Roy, 85, passed away peacefully in his home on January 11, 2019. Wayne was born December 17, 1933 to Charles and Ellen Roy of Kiowa, Kansas.  Wayne attended Kansas State University for Engineering and enjoyed a successful career in the aircraft industry as a Design Engineer with Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, Boeing in Seattle, Washington, Swearingen Aviation and Southwest Research in San Antonio, Texas spanning his career.  Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kiowa, Kansas.  He and Helen enjoyed estate sales, road trips and family in their retired years.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ellen Roy and sister, Betty Jo Roy, along with his beloved wife, Helen Jane Roy (Parker) also of Kiowa, Kansas.

He is survived by his three daughters, Elizabeth Holton and husband, Greg, Roberta Helland and husband, Devin and Cynthia Clark and husband, Neil; six wonderful grandchildren and his sister, June Riggenbach of Wellington, Kansas.  Wayne also has two sons, Rex and Dana Roy, from a previous marriage.

A private inurnment was held on January 26, 2019 at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery where Wayne was laid to rest with his wife, Helen.
